How important is appyling the right amount of inch pounds of torque to my base screws and rings?
Im talking about when mounting my scope. Can I do without a torque wrench?

- It is quite important to get your screws tight but not so tight that you break them. A torque wrench is very handy in achieving the correct torque but is not absolutely necessary. If you use reason when tightening the screws and not try to over tighten them with some sort of King Kong force, you will be fine. A drop of temporary Lock Tight will be very helpful. Be sure to use the kind that you can get loose when you are ready to remove the scope. if you use the permanent kind, you will be in trouble when it comes time to remove the scope.
- I agree, but I use clear nail polish on the threads.
