Torque and Chrome

Any suggestions on how to remove the bluing from a set of chrome motorcycle exhaust pipes?

  1. There's a product that supposedly removes the blue; I think it's called "BlueAway" or something like that. It should be available at motorcycle retailers; I know it is online at Harley Davidson parts. Good luck!
  2. BUY NEW PIPES
  3. !!!DONT USE BLUE AWAY!!!, Though it's intended to remove bluing, it's way to harsh, it's like sandpaper in a bottle. It scratches really badly. There is a product called "Blue Job" It requires a lot of rubbing ,but will clean your pipes w/o scratching them. Keep in mind, if you don't make changes to the fuel/ air ratio ,your pipes will discolor again.
  4. Get the proper carb jetting first to stop the bluing then get a new set of pipes.
  5. yes blue jop will work. i have used it but it takes alot of elbow grease. but it doesn't harm the finish.
  6. SUPER FINE OR ULTRA FINE STEEL WOOL. IT'S QUICK AND EASY. IT WILL NOT SCRATCH QUALITY CHROME.
  7. When you have removed the blue wrap a length of copper wire around exhaust at top about 5-7 turns around will prevent future bluing
  8. bbq black paint
