How do you get corrosion off motorcycle chrome?

  1. CHROME PLATING IS PLACED ON PIPES TO HELP REDUCE CORROSION. RUST ON CHROME IS BECAUSE THE PLATING HAS BEEN SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED SOME WAY AND THE AIR HAS GOTTEN TO THE STEEL UNDER IT. SO THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS CLEAN THE RUST OFF WITH LIGHT STEEL WOOL AND KEEP IT CLEAN UNTILL YOU CAN REPLACE THE AREA.
  2. buy new chrome or try fine steel wool
  3. It call never dull silver can black letter auto-store
  4. never dull works for short time but seams to make it worse real fast when you keep using it
  5. rub it with WD-40 using a sponge
  6. 4/0 steel wool and Mothers metal polish.
  7. I've heard of people using aluminium foil to clean the corrosion from chrome. You should not use steel wool as it will scratch the chrome even more. And if any little strands get caught they WILL rust-- within 24 hours! If you don't have a lot of damage to the area, a good wax job will usually keep it looking ok.
  8. Stuff called Gord's metal polish....look it up
  9. None of the above---Naval Jelly in the pink jar.
