How can I SAFLEY remove water spots from the chrome on my motorcycle?

I've got some water spots on the chrome on my motorcycle. What is the safest way to remove them so it looks like new? Clay Bar? White Vinager? I need some good suggestions that really work!! Thanks Everybody!

1. Windex window cleaning spray and a clean, soft rag. I use this all the time with good results and little elbow grease.

3. Wash the bike really good and use a blower to dry it , You can get a decent blower for cheap at the home depoe /peace
4. Try WD-40. It is water based and removes lots of stuff. Just apply, rub with a clean soft cloth and buff. You could also try a dryer sheet, WET it, rub and rinse well. Takes off bugs REALLY well! It's awesome! People will think you are a pro!
5. vinagar willprobably work but smells best to use shammyafter wash to get water off before it dries as for now if the water spots have tarnished the crome not much to do but they make crome polishes that work pretty good dont know what clay bar is but you dont want to use anything abrasive as this will cause rust

Hi, water spots can be excruciatingly difficult to remove, considering they started as such a harmless substance...usually these are on exhaust and silencer (muffler and pipes) where the heat has 'set' them. Tha best I have found to remove these is a commercial product called 'Solvol Autosol' I have no idea, I'm afraid, whether or not it is available in the US, but it has been round for many years in the UK. (You could try the internet if your accessory store doesn't have it) It is a fairly non-abrasive cream which should be applied to (cold, not hot) chromed parts, gently rubbed in, allowed to dry to a white finish, then polished off. Be careful not to apply it to hot muffler pipes, as it will stain even worse than the water marks you have! Good luck and keep on riding... Cheers, BobSpain
7. Steel wool is great on chrome. Just be careful around painted surfaces.Enjoy the ride and watch out for the other guy.
8. As Strech was saying Windex !!!!! works best on water spots , WD40 will smoke and pickup dust and when did water based products become explosive( redgoddess? for the money and best results go with window cleaner
9. Mother's chrome polish. It won't scratch, and it shines nicely in the process.
10. Sparkle or Windex works great. You can also try dupont chrome polish!!
11. I use "Never Dull". You can get it at most auto part stores or at Wal-Mart. http://www.nevrdull.com/
12. The windex is a good way. Use it then wash the area as usual. Be sure to towel or blow it dry
13. I'm told that some chrome shops recommend only Windex since it has no abrasives.
