Torque and Chrome

Does anybody know if it is illegal to paint a motorcycle all chrome?

I dont mean like the exhaust being chrome, i mean the bikes paint job

1. how do you "paint" on chrome? any color is legal
2. Illegal? No (although that may depend on state regulations). However, it's incredibly foolish and shouldn't be done, you will not only cause danger to other motorists but yourself. Not to mention anger from both drivers and other motorcyclists.

6. No it's not, but why would you want to? It will make riding it a chore. The sunlight will reflect right back at you like a mirror, not to mention the frames has to be stripped and cleaned then sent out to a chrome shop and when it comes back there is no guaranty all the parts will go right back into place. Bolt on parts are the ones that may not fit after chroming because of the thickness of the chroming materials use in the process. You may want to check with your chrome guy before you go ahead and do it. You may also ask the Dept of Transportation in your area to make sure about the chroming of the entire bike. 7. you can paint your bike any color you like.... chroming a bike is not painting... but a process, and it's very expensive. but Ive seen bikes before all chromed out. they do look cool. and it won't blind you or anyone else......

9. hahahahahahah i love the citizens arrest comment as far as chroming a bike number one that's stupids and ugly secondly go to ur DMV or a village municipality in your area and ask they also have pamphlets on whats legal and whats not in ur area...but remember it ugly on the road ...LOL citizens arrest hahahahahahah
10. I know of 4 full chrome bikes right now Even an old Pan hand made out of silver-Its called Sun Dance its at Competition MC in Houston
11. yeah Harley even made some all chrome bikes(tanks and fenders) for the Shriners in the late 60s
