What is the best way to get Chrome Rims Clean??

I have been using Rubbing Alcohol. And is works wonders. But i was wondering if there was something else around the house that i could use. Or something that i could go and pick of that doesnt cost a fortune to get just to use on my 20" Chrome Rims. They have set im my gaurage for one whole year, and you could imagin all of the grime and dirt built on them...

  1. Power Purple cleaner will melt off the crud and shouldn't hurt the chrome. Available at most auto parts stores.
  2. windex works real well.
  3. Use regular car wash soap. It's mild enough not to damage the wheels but strong enough to get all the grime off. If the wheels are really dirty get a cleaner made specifically for cleaning chrome wheels. If they are aluminum you must be careful and not use too strong a chemical as they will etch and cause permanent damage. The ammonia in Windex will take off any protective coating that the factory applied.
