heated towel rail - stainless steel or chrome plated? Curved or straight?

I am having my small en-suite bathroom replaced at the moment and need to purchase a heated towel rail for it. Firstly I need to know if it's worth spending a bit more on a stainless steel one opposed to plated (especially if hanging wet towels etc on) Secondly, it it worth buying the extra heating element that is available with most types. Thirdly, what is the difference between curved and straight? I assume this is purely cosmetic!
