Torque and Chrome

need a torque wrench to install my new oxigen sensor?

I bought a replacement unit for my mazda protege 2000 post cat, oxygen sensor... I the installation notes it says I should thighten it to 35 Ft /lbs... Could I simply adjust this with a normal wrench or is it important to thighten it to the specified torque? If I can just do it with a normal wrench,...is 35ft/lbs a lot or just tight? Thanks

  1. impact gun dont hold back
  2. I put one in with a normal wrench "just tight"
  3. Three finger pull on a wrench or ratchet.
  4. Just tighten it. You do know to run the engine to get warm before you try to take the old one out. You probably won't even get it out cold. Warm engine, not running, makes them come out a lot easier
  5. Don't use an impact wrench. AutoZone will loan you a wrench when you buy the part from them,,,deposit required of course.
