  1. you can tighten things by hand but a torque wrench will help you keep you from over tightening or under tightening and if you have a series of bolt meaning more than one of the same size and going into the same metal they will all be tightened down equally
  2. you need one to tighten every thing to specs. or you could old school it [ 1 grunt, 2grunt 3grunt , fart. or get a 500 pound gorilla.to over do it]]
  3. tight has one can get a nut or bolt is about the limts of a torque wrench.... in your case id think it would be ok if you didnt have one....... but if your doing motor work... over tighting can and will cause things to warp or break..... . and they are not that high and if you do a lot of wrenching you should get one
  4. depends how good you think u can get all the bolts close to the same tightness, I went years as a mechanic without torquing, but it depends what jobs your doing, as for your job, doing a lift, i wouldn't be to concerned with getting the torque to a T, now I would be concerned if you were doing something like replacing the head or something to that importance.
  5. torque wrenches are cheap... go pick one up. You don't want to chance it when it comes to your suspension. or the fact that you are lifting the body off of the frame 1 inch. Think about how lifting your body applys force to those bolts when you stop. The body used to be conected almost directly to the frame. Now they will be 1 inch higher. When your frame is stopping the body is trying to move forward and puts stress on the bolts. If they are torqued to tight... they will snap off. If they are too lose they bend. Buy a torque wrench, and use grade 10 hardware.
