Where can I find custom parts for a NEW (2007) Harley Davidson Dyna?
I have just purchased a 2007 Dyna Super Glide Custom (FXDC). The front fork diamater was increased from 41mm to 49mm diameter in 2006. As a result many custom items, even those offered by the factory will only fit 2005 models and older. I specifically want a chrome headlight nacelle. The fork "center to center" spacing has changed along with the tube diameter so I can't just buy an older item and hone out the fork opening. Thanks

- I only wonder why right out of the gate, a NEW Harley owner wants to *customize* their bike. Ride the damn thing, do custom work later
- Have you checked J&P, Custom Chrome, or any of the "cutting edge" shops? I haven't bought in a long time (make my own) but I know they have revamped many of the catalogues. Or, have you considered removing the stock part, bead blasting, and send it out to a chrome shop to have it chromed? http://www.chromeprosplating.com/
- Check with, Head Winds or Thunder Stix Both offer H.D. aftermarket lighting. You may have to wait a while for the aftermarket to catch up to your bike.
- The Harley Parts book has alot of customizing stuff in it.... Here's a "Tip" ....alot of guys will change the Air cleaner & Exhaust.... ( Screamin Eagle ) Beware...by doing that , you mess up the Air/fuel mixture.... Then you need it "Re mapped" which costs around $500 The Bike I bought had the stuff changed , but they didn't remapp it....it was running a little lean ( not good ) I had the Harley Dealer put in a "Power Commander" and they tuned it in on a Dyno....Runs great now... Sounds like your part could be made outa Aluminum and then Polished out.....or steel and have it Chromed.... Gotta Fly... Mike & "Jaz" in MN
- Good luck. I picked up my FXD35 on July 1 last year. Nothing fits the front end. (Yet) If you do find something, please e-mail me. I'd like to know. As to why people change things, there are many reasons. A bad seat makes a good bike into a bad ride, for example.
