I want to restore chrome on a bike, how?
No, I'm not talking about spraypainting, I'm talking about the real deal, chrome plating. I understand the 3 tier copper/nickel/chrome is the best. Does an over the counter kit exist or should I outsource to a local metal shop?

- There is one product that I swear by. Neverdull.
- depending on the condition of the part, it may need to be rechromed. they acid dip it and start over.
- Not familiar with an over the counter kit. Best is to take off all the parts to be chromed, clean well and send to a plating shop. The more parts you chrome the lower the price per part (usually). Talk to a few plating shops and see if they can include your parts in with another customers (possibly reducing your costs) and you might get them done fairly quick. Remember a pro job will look better than any do it yourself and should last if the shop does it right.
- when chroming metal...it is stripped down to the bare metal then dipped...you need to have a professional do this...look online for a shop near you or the yellow pages....these places are not many...so you will have to shop around...I do know of a place in kansascity...don't know the name of it but you can find a shop online by doing a search. Hope this helps
- Try this first. Rub with aluminum foil (use like 400 sand paper) and follow up with WD40.
