How do I distress a chrome plated object?

1. Chrome plated will probably look distressed in a month anyway leave it alone. Whatever it is. Chrome plating doesn't stick well.
2. You can purchase a conversion medium for metal and glass. You mix this in with latex paint and you are then able to paint, make a patina or age the object. You purchase this medium at any craft store, Wall mart even carries it.
