Are the colorful LED lights illegal on a motorcycle?
We recently bought the "seven colored lizard light starter kit" here in Arkansas. I was wondering if it was illegal to have them on while riding a motorcycle? I looked up DMV.org and tried searching but couldnt find any laws on the accessory lights. Also, it would be great if anyone had website links following their answers.

- YES
- You'll probably find they are covered by some sort of construction and use vehicle code. Expect a lot of attention from smartly uniformed gentlemen in black and white cruisers if you do use them on the move.
- I am not familiar with laws in AR, but In NH you are prohibited from displaying a red or blue light while riding the motor vehicle.
- I think they are illegal on a moving vehicle in the blinking mode or steady Red, Green, or Blue light display mode. I guess steady purple as about your only option when riding. But hey, they sure will look cool when parked. You might think about adding a Kuryakan Hypercharger and hanging an Infinity Streamliner off of it. I have the Streamliner and would love to add the lizard lights to complete the look. P.S. Adding the Hypercharger might require that you rejet the carbs. I did.
- While riding, yes they are ILLEGAL, they can only be used when parked. In my opinion, they should be illegal just in principle alone.
- green is not illeagal while riding i have them and ride with them on and have gotten stopped with them on and didnt get told anything you can not ride with red or blue because of the cops lights are the same
- yes, it's illegal to have lights on while riding, but cops rarely stop people for it.
- In most states they are illegal while the bike is being ridden. Most of the packaging that the lights come in say that they are for show only.
