1. A good start is to look in popular motorcycle magazines. It really depends on what you're looking for. Another good place would be a motorcycle place that specializes in custom bikes. You'd be surprised at how many of those guys are willing to turn you on to great after-market sources. Additionally, go to the track. All the amateur and pro racers like to help out other riders. There is nothing better than word of mouth. Especially with after-market parts. Make sure you look for parts that compliment your particular bike well though, too. For example, on Kawasaki, Two Brothers Racing pipes work fantastic, but on a Yamaha (prior to when they put the exhaust under the seat) Yoshimura pipes were the way to go. Just a thought.
