Who makes a reasonably priced, quality, torque wrench ?

Specifications: micro-ajusting, 24" long, 1/2" drive, all metal, i.e., no plastic components, range: 10 lb ft - 150 lb ft. Value is the major concern, not price. Snapon makes quality tools. However, they are not a good value, due to their high price. Sears, makes inexpensive tools. However, they are not a good value, due to their limited quality. I have an old, Craftsman torque wrench. It has given me good service over many years, now the adjustment is stuck. I looked at the new Craftsman, torque wrenches. The quality appears to be lacking.

  4. Craftsman has a good one, but a snap on is better. I would look online seem to find better deals on good things there.
  5. Craftsman's junk torque wrenches have plastic. You'd be best to go with Matco, Mac, or Snap on.
  6. I was just at sears and saw they had several models on sale. If you're just looking for a cheap tool for occasional use try Harbor Frieght ( http://www.harborfreight.com/ ) or Acme http://www.acmetools.com/index.html
  7. Sears would be fine, you said that price is one of your main priority's so grab it they work fine. But many of the newer cars are torqued first then you will need to finalize the torque by turning a specified number of degrees, so you may need to get a degree wheel to go with the new wrench.
  8. just buy a craftsman if your not going to use it much, they are junk but they are acurate. if you want the best buy a snap on

  10. You get what you pay for$$$$$ the more u spend the higher the quality, Try snap on or try macco, the less u spend the lower the quality...Ive been a mech along time and have learned that the more u spend the better the quality.
  11. i understand you want a reasonable priced tool. go with craftman they have a lifetime garantee what more do you need.they work good.
