How can Harley Davidson Dealers afford the lease or rent on the prime locations of their dealerships? ever notice? all HD Dealers have a top of the line high traffic, prime location, they have to be spending major lease or rent contracts, how do they make money to pay for it? HD sales are off 35% for 2008 and,,, the Japanese Motorcycle Dealers have back road, run down locations and many of them are sold outta bikes.
How do Harley Davidson Dealers pay the high rent or lease for their prime location? Where do they get the money for the $20K to $60K per month rent or lease for their building at a prime, high traffic location? They are NOT selling any new bikes! I know the correct answer, but I want to see if everybody else knows.

Are Harley Davidson dealers willing to negotiate price? My local dealer will not move very far from MSRP.? I am looking at a 2007 Street Glide. The best I can do is $22,000 and that includes a $500 exhaust system. That price includes all the fees, etc. I am in the metro-Detroit area.

I don't understand? Why do Harley Davidson dealers give test rides to beginners, but refuse experienced riders? I was talking to a HD owner today, he has an older Fatboy, no big deal, and he was telling me he went to the local HD Dealer and asked for a test ride on a new HD, the dealer told him nobody gets test rides and at the same time they were giving a beginner that was never on any motorcycle before a test ride on a new HD. I don't know if he's telling me the truth or the whole story or not, we were in a conversation agreeing with each other how rude and obnoxious this local HD dealer is. I told him dealers will be more excited with new customers than customers that already own a HD and are more inclined to give them test rides, and a guy that already owns a HD would know what to expect with a test ride, the new bike will feel the same as his old bike and it wouldn't excite him. he's not a friend, I don't know the guy, we just ended up at the same place with our bikes and we were having a friendly conversation
Are Harley Davidson (HD) dealers allowed to sell other brands? many years ago, HD did not allow authorized dealers to sell other brands. HD was barred from doing this, but then in 1995 the Commission decision was reverted because being more than 20 year old. Does anyone know? Is it possible for a dealer to sell all brands? thanks

Ive got friends who go up there all the time so im there alot. Can I remove the baffles from my Harley Davidson? I want to remove the baffles from my Harley but the local Harley dealer says that this will warp the heads on the engine. how can i test the charging system on a Harley Davidson sportster 883? i need to know why i am finding a dead battery its only had 8month from new and its happened three times ,and i would like to do a few test before i take it to the dealer .when my friend did some voltage test across the battery terminals and started the engine(i had to recharge the battery) it was giving 15v to 18v .with the battery out should i get a continuity reading across the terminals ??? thanks

Please refer a good, affordable Harley Davidson repair person within 100 miles of Toledo, OH.? We have a 1999 Heritage Softtail Classic which began to have starting problems. We pulled the starter, finished breaking it, had it repaired, put it back in, and now we have broken teeth on the clutch wheel. We need somebody to bench test the starter, fix what we broke on the clutch, and put it all back together. Anyone know any good and affordable private Harley repair people near Toledo, OH? The dealers are outrageous.

My dealer has recently installed some with no other modifications and it seems to have affected the performance of my bike? What do you recommend? I have now had my bike in 3 or 4 times and my dealer refuse to accept that this is the case. Insisting that I should... "keep the revs up". What is the answer?

It's Harley Davidson sportser, 2005 he paid almost $6,000 He invested in it and now it's chromed out, with blue lights around it so people can see him at night... Is it possible to sell it back? 2006 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster with 1100 miles on the clock. I keep hitting false neutral between 1st/2nd? This only happens when shifting up, especially away from the lights, and it seems worse if I'm leaning at all. Had it back to the dealers for 1st service, which sorted it for a few days. Dealer is 60miles away and has a waiting list, so I want some idea before I take it back. Anyone else had this problem?

How can I get original Harely Engine MSO Copies? I'm building a custom bike from the ground up. I've just about finished the project but in the midst of the build I have lost the MSO for the Engine. It's a Stock Harley Davidson EVO 80 Ci' motor. I've contacted the dealer which I purchased it from (a NON-franchised Harley Davidson Dealer) Just a re-seller, and he is very unwilling to help me. It has been over a year since I purchased the engine and I do not know what to do. My State (ME) requires MSO's for the Frame, Transmission, and Engine, along w/ receipts for the hardware. Any thoughts on how I can get the Engine MSO without the help from the original dealer? Again it's a an Original Crate Harley Davidson Evolution engine.

Help!!! Harely Davidson 1340 EVO backfiring really bad!!!? I have a 1994 Harley Davidson, with 80K miles, that is backfiring under throttle. It comes and goes. Sometimes it will backfire really bad when I hit the throttle and other times it will act just fine. Something loose? I took it to both of the Harley Dealers in my area and the first told me it was the jets and charged me $500 but that did not work, then I took it to the second and they rebuilt my carb and charged me $500 and that did not work. So I bought a new S&S carb for another $500 and it still backfires. I have also put new wire and plugs on and adjusted the timing. I am $1500 + into this problem and it still backfires really bad about 70% of the time it is running. Help!! The dealers did test the compression and said everything looked good. I also put on a new intake manifold with the new SS Carb.

How long does a used car dealer have to transfer a title ? I bought my car April 27, 2007 on a loan I olny have 1000.00 left to pay now and the registration expired july 31, 2007 it also requires a safety inspection every year and that has expired. I am making payments on it for a couple of years and am also wondering if they would take the trade-in value and put it towards to paying off the Sportster. I also am thinking of the Harley/Buell line of sport bikes, which would probably would be easier as far as trading in my Sportster, but I want to see if I can expand my choices to other manufacturers. There is nothing wrong with my Sportster, I enjoy it, but I eventually want to get into a sport bike and can't afford both or have room for two motorcycles.
What is the most comfortable Touring Motorcycle you have owned? Only answer if you ride long distances. Going back and forth to the dealer on saturday doesn't count. This is for the real motorcycle people, those who ride more than 10,000 a year. I've road a number of bikes and for me it is a toss up between Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, Honda Goldwing, and a Kawasaki Nomad.
Can we verify or get a business rating on a company called 4x4 tuff in California? Are they a reputible dealer. We have paid for an order for a magna charger for a harley davidson and have been waiting for the product for four months when the manufacturer advised it would be 6 weeks. Am getting concerned about the legitimicy of this business. Would appreciate feedback ASAP Regards Karen Ryan
