I have a 2005 harley FLHT police model with optional ABS brakes,Does anybody know if there is a chrome caliper? Know if there is a chrome caliper/rotor cover kit available for this bike that does not require cutting of the left side covers and mounting bracket ? BURN MARK ON HARLEY CHROME EXHAUST? hi all. ok so i have a burn mark of some sort on my exhaust (chrome) i think its where the NYLON cover was put on when the pipes were still too hot. so now i have a burnt on mark on there and i cant get it off!!! i use autosol to polish my chrome... and have tried autoglym... but it wont come off!!! i have thought of a brillo pad but that would scratch it surely??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! need it off by tomorrow afternoon lol!!! i live in uk... so needs to b something i can buy here.

Harley riders chrome plating question? Do replated exhaust pipes discolor more easily than those plated by the manufactures? I have replated a set of LA Choppers and they have discolored faster and more severely than any I have had before. they were plated at South Bay a good shop but I am wondering if maybe there's no way to match a manufactures plate job.

Is Nevr-Dull a good product to polish my chrome and rims on my Harley-Davidson? I bought a '98 Harley Dyna Convertible. It has very low miles but had sat for many years in an airplane hangar. The chrome and aluminum rims need a good polish. I was thinking of buying Mother's chrome polish and aluminum polish, but I read about a product called Nevr-Dull. I'm interested in the Nevr-Dull because it said said it is an excellent product. Supposedly I don't even have to prep the chrome or the rims. I just start wiping them with the Nevr-Dull. That could save me a lot of time.

Is carnauba paste wax better that Windex to polish chrome? I'm a relatively new Harley owner, and I'm learning about the bike. I was at a motorcycle shop last summer, and the owner said Windex is the best cleaner for chrome and chrome polish will eventally dull the chrome. I found out that the Harley paste wax has carnauba in it. How could carnauba dull the chrome? That doesn't make sense.
How can I chemically dull chrome? This is a question from my dad. He has a Harley and wants to dull the chrome on the oil tank, can he do this using some sort of chemical? Bear in mind it's only to dull it, not to remove it - he wants to achieve a sort of frosted look. The look he's going for is high gloss on the body and the chrome dull, it looks phenominal so far! Whats up with the blind alligance to Harley Davidson and everyother bike it crap thing? Like why cant Harley riders appreciate things like good engineering or technology and not just loud pipes and heavy ass chrome? Yeah "grouse" I hear that all time, its the only comeback HD riders have in lieu of horrible specs. I have ridden them and yes I dont understand whats so great about a poorly handling machine thats slow and makes a lotta noise, and doesnt stand out from the crowd when you pull up at the spot.

How do I remove melted micro-fibre cloth crud from chrome pipes on my Harley Davidson? I have accidently brushed a micro-fibre cloth onto my HOT chrome pipes, and now there is black crud left. I have been using Mother's Chrome Polish, which is working slowly, but very labour intensive. Is there anything I can use to remove the thicker, black crud, before using the polish for it's proper use? I've read about using oven cleaner, lacquer thinner, WD40, aluminium foil, and applied on both hot and cold pipes.

Is there a craft paint I can buy that looks exactly like or similar to chrome? I am handpainting a special wall plaque for a friend of mine who is into Harley-Davidsons. Why do some think a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 is a girls' bike? Is it the look/style of the bike? Is it because it's only 883 cc? I was told you can bore it out and make it a 1200, and the only difference between an 883 and a 1200 is the amount of chrome. Where can I find custom parts for a NEW (2007) Harley Davidson Dyna? I have just purchased a 2007 Dyna Super Glide Custom (FXDC). The front fork diamater was increased from 41mm to 49mm diameter in 2006. As a result many custom items, even those offered by the factory will only fit 2005 models and older. I specifically want a chrome headlight nacelle. The fork "center to center" spacing has changed along with the tube diameter so I can't just buy an older item and hone out the fork opening. Thanks
I make over $200k per year and I still don't want a Harley - what's wrong with me? I can afford one, so obviously I'm not jealous about not having one. My significant other never "ran off with a biker" so it's not that. I've ridden them before, so I do understand. And, from what I've been told on more than one occassion, I am a real man. So I pass all the cliche tests of what supposedly is required (according to many of the Harley guys on Yahoo Answers) and yet I still don't want one. According to the requirements set forth by all the Harley guys, I should be unloading all sorts of cash at the Harley dealer and riding home on 800 pounds of underpowered chrome. For some reason I'd rather ride my BMW. Can someone please tell me what my problem is?
Do skull turn signals on a Harley throw off the balance? Was behind some Harley guy yesterday at a very long 4 way stop. He had a nazi style beanie helmet, engineer boots with chrome heals, Harley vest...a real genuine badass. The bike had styling exaggerated spade mirrors, and chrome skull break light and turn signals with red eyes that light up, totally customized. But every time he moved his bike a car length he had to drag his feet and even then swerved all over the lane. Do you think radical customization like this throws off the bike's handling?
My low beam and running lights are not working on my Harley-Davidson 1984 FLH shovel head Electra Glide? The Glide is a dresser with no tachometer and a chrome dashboard. The headlight high beam and running lights along with the spot lamps (passing lamps) work fine. When the low beam is turned on, none of the lights work. Normally the fender lamps would come on along with the tail lamp, even if the low beam was burned out in the halogen headlight bulb. With the low beam position on, a slow "turn signal" type noise is heard--a slow continuous clicking which seems to be coming from below the chrome/dashboard/speedometer housing. Has anyone heard of this type of problem or know how to cure it? Thanks,

What would happen if I spray painted the muffler of my motorcycle? Its a Harley Sportster and I'm painting some of the body with Harley spray paint. The muffler, which is chrome-plated is in the way for some so I was wondering if I could spray the muffler. Would it get too hot for the paint while riding?

harley davidson restoration project ideas needed? I picked up a 1986 wide glide from a buddy. Runs great but needs the major cleaning. I will explain what I have to do and any product suggestions will be appreciated. I have rust only everywhere. The frame is fine but most of the chrome is pitted and rusted. Without having to replace all of it any ideas ? The block and the fins where painted and now they are flaking. Any ideas on types of paint I can use or should I just send it out? Motorcycle chrome wheel leaks? Was on a Harley, here's the story Bought a new chrome wheel, had a new tire mounted on it. It loses about a pound of air day. I've had 2 Harley dealers take the wheel of the bike and dunk it in a tank - no bubbles. The second one also took the tire off and replaced the tire valve remounted the tire - still leaks. Take it back to the second dealer, he takes the wheel and tire off, puts a used wheel on with a new tire, takes the old wheel and tire apart, mount a new tire on my chrome wheel and mounts my tire on a different wheel. The wheel with the new tire is losing air and the tire with the different wheel is holding air. So it must be the wheel rather than the tire that is leaking. I have the wheel here right now, have looked over it with a couple of magnifying glasses and I can't find any cracks. Are there permanent sealers for the wheel? Any ideas on how to solve this?

V-twin S&S breather problem? I have a 99 , cmc with a 88inch motor,. The oil comming from my head breather is getting worse. On a 200 mile ride ,I will have oil all over the rear,and dripping when I stop,. It has gotten to a short trip problem. The BS ,,S&S web sight will not allow you to e-mail. I have pulled the rocker covers(custom chrome) to check the gaskets and check valve,.The check valves seem a little hard but not bad,no cracks, I pulled the Cam chest cover, no gasket problems, S&S requires a 92 and older chest gasket for all Super-Stock motors.The gasket is the same one since new, no breaks and a good seal. I did a leak down on the motor, 1/2 to 1% on both,no ring problem. I have a Harley chrome oil filter that was on there for awhile before the problem started,The brather is NOT hooked to the carb,It never was . The problem was not bad before, I put 16000 miles on it the way it was. Something happened and it's not looking me in the eye. I was thinking of changing both crank and head breathers. HELP

Should I buy a Harley-Davidson? I admit it, for years I was a Harley-basher. They've always been the most beautiful bikes in the world, yes, but I was always more interested in utility. A lot of people buy them for the image---and I HATE the image. I like to ride motorcycles, I don't give a damn what other people think of me riding the thing. I never thought I would consider buying an H-D, but due to my height, taste and the type of riding I do, my options are limited and Harley is about the last real bike out there. I am hugely irritated with the plastic faux chrome parts on Japanese bikes in recent years. I've heard that insurance is high on H-Ds, that repairs are expensive (and frequent), and I don't feel good about the belt drive thing. If I went Harley, I'd have to go with the 1200N Sportster. Fill me in, people. By "real" bike I mean that the parts actually seem to serve some function, unlike the faux air cleaner covers and plastic "chrome" on many bikes. thomy8s: I never said the image was negative, I simply said I didn't like it. And you didn't change my mind much witrh your outburst. tamarack58: Yeah, I realize I don't have to wear the accepted uniform of the supposedly free-from-conformity crowd. Harley Softail Fatboy or Deuce? Recently my fiance has wanted a harley. Specifically a softail fatboy or deuce. We found a used duece that he really likes alll fixed up already. However, I agreed he could get a bike if the price was right. However, they are only willing to go down to14,500. Thats just not low enough. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it lower. Without down payment. its only got 3200 miles on it with screamin eagles and added chrome in all the right places. I just need some real suggestions on how to get that price down. Please help!!
Motorcycle Exhaust/Mufflers question. Can you help me out? I have 1974 Honda CB 550. It has terrible looking, aftermarket, short mufflers on it. I want to change them. I don't like the original mufflers made for the bike either. I want big chrome Harley Davidson style mufflers. Can I but Harley mufflers and throw them on my bike? I want to buy some on Ebay but I want to shure they will fit. I can't find out what size I need. Are they adjustable? Thanks, Ed

Harley test ride help !? Well i never in a million years thought i would be asking this but next week i am booking a test ride to try out a couple of different Harleys ! I want to see what all the fuss is about and think its only fair that if i have a joke at a Harley riders expense then at least i should give them a try ! I want to know which ones i should try ? I dont mind a few vibes but it has to be comfy because i do thousands of miles a year ! Also if such a bike exists one with not too much chrome ! I am NOT saying i`m gonna buy one but i`m Not saying i wont ! And before anybody takes the **** this really is a serious question ! Thanks guys ! Some really great answers. I now know the first one i`m gonna try is the Night Rod and the second maybe the Night Train but i think i`m also gonna try a full on tourer.....maybe a Road King Classic ? I do about 20-25000 miles a year in the UK but the thing is i`m moving to Canada later this year with my wife (she`s Canadian) and our 3 yo little boy ! So it MIGHT just make more sense to buy a HD where i will have the space to ride it ! John...if i could afford to buy an old school HD as a second bike (one i could keep clean)...that still might happen ! Hope you would do me a good deal on one ? LOL ! I still dont know what its gonna feel like riding a HD after a ZX-14R (which is a fantastic touring bike even though its got the amount of power it has) but i will promise to keep an open mind ! Shaun....the dealers in the UK seem to be really good. When i called they said i could test whatever i wanted and they said they had the full range in stock ! I really wish i could afford as many bike as i wanted LOL !
does anyone have any colored pictures of 1953 harley teleglyde motorcycle? i know it was blue. i am restoring it after someone else sandblasted it all. need all colors of rims if not chrome detailed colors of al parts of bike
I need to find out what the 1972 Harley is worth? My only brother passed away just over a year ago. He loved his Harley and I have it in storage and I can't get insurance on it through our auto because of it being custom made. It is a wide glide shovel head on a 72 sporster frame. I think it is over or around 1100CC. It looks just like the one Dennis Hooper rode in easy rider. He had added lots of chrome and it is very painful for me to look at this bike I can't part with it and I do want to get insurance on it. I might could post some pictures if allowed. My brother new his bikes and was a jet mechanic so it would be what he said. He dropped dead suddenly so I can only go on what he would talk about so often. He had lots of other easy rider things. I think the tanks are fat boys and it is a jump start. I am over 50 and 5 ft everyone says it is way to big for me to learn to ride. I need help in getting some idea what it is worth and finding insurance. Thank you, Sandy Thanks. sandy I can't reach the pedals and someone pointed out it could kick back and send me through the air. I found out he was thrown over the handle bars a couple of times. He was a experienced biker so I would just hope to find someone to ride me on it occasionally after I can get some insurance and idea on its value. sandy The only part that is sportster is the frame.
how much should i sell my 04 harley ultra classic for? it has 19,500 miles with about 1500.00 in options, such as chrome ,screamin eagle exhaust ,air flow kit, luggage rack, backrest,etc......
