Where can I get my Craftsman torque wrench calibrated? I live in Florida. I just want to make sure it's still within specs.
Where may I obtain servicing, for a thirty-five-year-old, Craftsman torque wrench.? I have had no luck with any of the Sears stores, including "Sears Hardware", or "Sears Servicing". Please Note: The question, has nothing to do with the viability of repair, only where repair may be had. I also thought, all Craftsman hand tools had a lifetime guarantee. However, when I brought it in, for replacement or repair, the store clerk checked the warranty on a new one; it was one year. I realize, now, it doesn't mean, mine only had a one year guarantee.
Craftsman 1/2 inch torque wrench gives what kind of warning when at selected torque? I got a half inch socket craftsman torque wrench and i was just wondering what kind of warning it gives when you've torqued the bolt to spec.. cause i over torqued a bolt and ruined the threads.. problem is that i didn't feel any kind of warning, the usual click or snap you get with other torque wrenches. I torqued to 110 ft-lbs. and then the felt the bolt release.. that made me sad.
How to reverse a Craftsman Microtork Torque Wrench? I just got a Craftsman Microtork Torque Wrench Model No: 44594. (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00944594000P) The directions say that I can "Set the reversing lever for the proper direction of the operation." And the manual points out the Ratchet reversing lever, which is also the same thing as the Drive!? But the manual does not tell me how to actually reverse the lever. And the leaver is not the typical one you see on any reversible socket wrench. (See link above.) Can someone tell me how I can switch from tighten to loosen with this torque wrench? But I've also heard that you are to never loosen anything with a torque wrench. Is that true?
What do I need to look for when buying a torque wrench? I need a torque wrench to take of my wheels and stuff, but I don't know what things to consider when buying one. I was planning on going to Sears and get a Craftsman wrench since they usually make good stuff, but they usually have more than one type of everything so how do I choose which one to get. Also, about how much should a torque wrench cost?
Do you use the Craftsman model 1019 Laboratory Edition Signature Series torque wrench? it has been calibrated by top members of the state AND federal Department of Weights and Measures to be dead on balls accurate!
Torque Wrench Turned Past 0? I just bought a Craftsman DigiTork Torque Wrench at sears. I took the wrench out of the case, and I accidentally turned it the wrong direction. It went past stop, and I realized that I was turning it the wrong way when I saw 250 on the dial (it spun backwards). I quickly turned it the correct direction and went to see if the wrench still works. It still seems solid, and still clicks when it reaches the set torque reading. Could I have internally damaged something or am I ok? Thanks

Tools needed for Brake/suspension Tech? Im currently in school for auto tech and will be getting my brake & suspension ase at the end. What are the tools needed for this? I have craftsman wrenches/sockets/ratchets and was thinking of getting a torque wrench/impact wrench/impact sockets from snap on or matco. What else would I need?? future technician - snap-on tools... opinions? I'm going to become a future technician. I was thinking about getting all Snap-on tools, but after seeing it it's too expensive it decide to go for Craftsman... Do you think Craftsman tools are just as top quality as Snap-on? Should I just buy tools Snap-on are famous for (scanner, torque wrench...) and Craftsman for the basic tools (sockets, wrenches, etc...)? How hard is it to reach a representative if a snap-on tool needs a replacement? and FINALLY what do you think I should do to build up my tool set, or how did you do it?
Would this be a good impact wrench for my air compressor? Ok, im buying a craftsman air compressor for my bf for christmas. Its 27 gallons, 150 PSI max.Has a 1.9 HP motor and 120/240 dual volt-wired at 120 volt. 7.2 SCFM @ 40 PSI & 5.8 SCFM @ 90 PSI. The impact wrench is the craftsman 1/2 in. 400 ft/lbs of torque SCFM @ 90 PSI: 6.5 I would greatly appreciate someone suggesting another impact wrench. Preferably craftsman. This is going to be a suprise, otherwise i would of already asked him what he wanted. He restores cars if this helps any? Thanks!
will a 200ft. lb. 19.2v impact wrench remove a crankshaft bolt on a saturn sl2? i can't get the crankshaft bolt out i tried the breaker bar and socket and the engine crank method but nothing working so i purchased a craftsman 19.2v impact wrench today. It is rated at 200 ft-lb of torque and 0-3000 Impacts per minute (IPM). will it remove the crank bolt on a 1.9 DOHC saturn engine? even if the impact doesn't help i can still use it for tire changes and stuff like that so its really not a huge waste. i will go and get a breaker bar and pipe tomorrow. Thanks for all the answers
Which Impact Wrench? Ok, I'm looking at 2 impact wrenches, both around the same price of $200. Th Craftsman pro which has 400 FPT (Foot Pounds of Torque) in forward and 600 in reverse.1250 bpm and 9500 rpm for $190 or the Ingersoll Rand Thunder which is also 500 FPT in forward, 625 in reverse. 10,000 RPM but 1200 BPM for $210. By looking a videos they both seem like good impacts but the Ingersoll Rand seems to do it quicker. but also have to look at the quality and reliability of Craftsman. I will be running them with a 33 gal 150 psi craftsman tank with 3/8 tubbing and quick connects. I noticed that the IR done well but also was running off of nitrogen or something other than air. My dad has the same compressor that I have. He found out that you get much more power out of 3/8 tubing and quick connects and you'll have to change the valves on the tools to 3/8. He told be if he knew that at the time he would have never needed his $300 wrench that puts out 1100 FPT from Ingersoll Rand Country Boy, That's what my dad has is the IR titanium. It's strong as hell!!! I'm debating to spend another 100 bucks and get one.
Why won't my lawn mower start? I have a Craftsman self propelled push lawnmower with a 6.75 horse Briggs engine. It sat in the garage unused for several years. I pulled it out to use it the other day, and it barely turns over and stalls almost immediately. The oil level was ok, but the oil is old. The gas was really old. I drained the gas (it was discolored, an amber color, but clear) and put in fresh gas. Same problem. I pulled out the spark plug and wiped it off, but it didn't look that bad. I reinstalled it (without a torque wrench, sadly, went by feel). Still same problem. The blade doesn't seem to be restricted. Any ideas on what to do to get it running? The air filter is clean. The mower doesn't have a priming bulb.
